Dear Dr Walters and the concerned Parishes of New Westminster,

Greetings in the Name of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

For the sake of the treasured Gospel, we - the Province of Rwanda and the Anglican Mission in America - extend to you the welcoming hand of Christian fellowship, shared concern, ready support and tangible assistance.

We have received and heard your appeal of June 14, 2002 based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The recent actions by the Synod of the Diocese of New Westminster, and its Bishop - of themselves - are, as the Archbishop of Canterbury states, "a departure from Anglican moral tradition" as well as  contrary to Holy Scripture.  We too see this as "following a course at odds with the Lambeth Conference (1998) Resolution 1.10 (e)."

We fully understand that this compromise of the Gospel constitutes a serious violation of your firmly-based and deeply-held religious convictions and conscience. Communion has been jeopardised by the schismatic acts of  that Synod.

We deeply regret the threats toward you and numerous others concerning your clerical licenses. Please know that we will not recognise any such efforts.

We are also willing to share with others the possibility of ecclesiastical protection.

We further hope that there will soon come a reasonable response through the Achbishop of Canterbury for this case of exceptional emergency which is obviously incapable of internal resolution.

We love you and will keep you in our prayers.

Yours

Most Rev. Emmanuel M. Kolini
